Edward Bressie Vaughan Papers
Papers of both Edward Bressie Vaughan, Sr. and Jr. The majority of the papers are requisitions, receipts, Quartermaster stores, etc. from August through Novemeber 1862 during the Kentucky Campaign signed by or sent to Lieutenant Edward Bressie Vaughan, Jr.. Other papers include both Vaughan, Sr.'s and Jr.'s personal and business correspondence from 1832 through 1869. The collection also contains E.B. Vaughan, Sr.'s Oath of Allegiance (dated 30 June 1865) to the United Stated.

Edward Lee Hotel Broadside
One handmade sign from the Edward Lee Hotel in Jackson, Mississippi, from approximately 1963 supporting freedom and equality. The sign measures approximately 30" x 20" and is marked with the initials "EL" in two corners. The Edward Lee Hotel was one of two African American-owned hotels in Jackson, Mississippi.

The diary covers her activities in Texas, Mexico, and New York during 1914-1915, including work on her novel My Brother's Keeper (1915). There is also a typed transcript of the diary.

One photographic album of 356 black-and-white photographs following the daily life and travels of amateur photographer Ella Wilcox in Colorado and Mexico during the early to mid-1900s. The photographs in Colorado are scenes of teaching at a local school and scenic shots of Ironton, Telluride, Rocky Ford, and Cheyenne Mount among others. Photographs taken during travels through Mexico highlight market and street scenes in Mérida in Yucatán, Mayan ruins, and Mexico City among others.

Emma Marie Cutter Diary
Emma Marie Cutter (1853-1937) was born in Jaffrey, New Hampshire, and attended the State Normal School at Bridgewater, Massachesetts, from 1871-1875. Cutter began teaching at the Peabody (also known as State) Normal School in Nashville, Tennessee, immediately after her graduation until 1881. This diary, which she kept from 1876-1878, discusses her life as a teacher, her travels to the Northeast to visit her family in the summer, and the people she encountered in the post-Civil War South.

Entertainment in Mexico Broadsides
This collection of two broadsides published by Antonio Vanegas Arroyo and illustrated by José Guadalupe Posada demonstrates entertainment papers that were circulated in Mexico at the turn of the nineteenth century. One broadside advertises a reenactment of the Third Battle of Puebla and one illustrated broadside, partially written in verse, reports on a sensational murder by a woman. Both broadsides are written in Spanish.
