The collection contains personal correspondence, papers relating to academic matters, a diploma, cards, maps, and newspaper clippings of Estes, his mother, Abigail H. Estes, stepfather, John Thomas Owen, and uncle, George Harris Searcy. It contains papers and publications about Japan and about 250 photographs of Estes, his family, and friends.
