This file contains a letter from Hi Allman to a friend named Johnny, written on the USS Bremerton while it was practicing gunnery off Okinawa, Japan, in August 1955. The letter describes the Bremerton's cruise from its departure out of Long Beach, California, on July 14, 1955, to its arrival at Okinawa. The cruise included stopping at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and Yokosuka, Japan, and steaming through a typhoon.
