This collection consists of two ledgers dated from 1888 to 1903 from the Birmingham-based United Machinists and Mechanical Engineers of America Local Lodge No. 7. The first ledger is dated from 1888- to 1891 and includes meeting minutes, officer reports, and propositions and resolutions with details of the resulting votes. The second ledger is a list of the local union’s members from 1888- to 1903.

24 letters from Levi Lundy to his brother, Joel Lundy, from September 29, 1832 to February 10, 1834. The letters document Levi’s travels to find a healthier environment and the worsening of his tuberculosis. Lundy ‘s letters were sent from Savannah and Macon, Georgia, Tuscaloosa and Mobile, Alabama, Nassau and Bimini, Bahamas, Norfolk, Virginia, Gibraltar, and Malta. There is also a letter to Joel Lundy to inform him of his brother’s death in Gibraltar on March 10, 1834.
