Biographical / Historical
Printing first appeared in Alabama in 1807 and wasn't really established until 1816 with the coming of Huntsville's first newspaper. This piece therefore, printed in 1833, is an early example of its type. The printer, Dandridge Farris was a native of Virginia who moved to Huntsville and established the Southern Advocate in 1825.
