The collection contains two late nineteenth century volumes by R. D. Spratt dealing with the history, legends, and language of the Choctaw Indians. While a significant portion of the handwritten ledger deals with the language and vocabulary of the Choctaw, the typewritten bound volume deals mainly with the history and not as much vocabulary.
