The earliest, 1895, has the note "collecting propagating material of indigenous, woody plants for Biltmore Estate. -- F. E. Boynton." The ten maps, 1896-1902, show C. L. Boynton's "botanical tours," while two, 1899 and 1902, show the routes taken by C. L. Boynton and C. D. Beadle.
