Charles Hope Papers
Charles Hope (1763-1851) was a judge and politician in Edinburgh, Scotland. This collection contains a cover letter and memorandum that Hope wrote to another Scottish politician, Henry Dundas, on October 22, 1804, proposing wartime strategies for British commercial advancement in Latin America. The memorandum is titled "Hints as to the Conduct of this Country, in the event of a Spanish war."
