Sheldon C. Treat Civil War Correspondence

Overview Sheldon C. Treat was a Union soldier in the US Civil War as part of the Fourth Iowa Infantry. This collection includes twenty-one letters he wrote to his family in New England, most of them sent in 1862-1863 during his war service. It also contains a letter from his commanding officer, and a short biographical document.
