Scope and Contents From the Collection: A letter dated 4 February 1834, to Alabama Governor John Gayle, thanking him for a nice visit to Tuscaloosa, probably during Key's mission to resolve a dispute between the U.S. government and Alabama over the disposition of lands taken from the Creek Indians. Key's letter also discusses congressional debates on the Bank of the United States.
