This collection consists of a letterbook covering 12 March to 15 May 1888, general correspondence and cases, a ledger labeled "pleadings" between 18 July 1888 to 26 February 1891 containing general correspondence and cases, and miscellaneous material from 12 March to 7 August 1888, including miscellaneous personal accounts, lists of firms in Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio, and the services and products in which they dealt.

This collection consists of a single small notebook, into which Powers evidently copied some of his outgoing correspondence from March-October 1938. Among these are copies of letters to the American Agricultural Chemical Corp. of Montgomery, Alabama, and Kenneth Hodges of Woodville Alabama. The latter concerns a proposed baseball game between the "ball team of Hurricane" and their opposite number in Woodville.
