The collection contains a contract making Kate Beatty, a resident of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, a member of the Birmingham Bridal Gift Association. This Association had annual dues and presented brides with a cash gift at the time of marriage.

This collection contains a list of pastors, rules of decorum, the church covenant, and baptism lists, 1838-1904. It also includes an article, “Chronicles of the First Baptist Church,” by Tom Garner, clerk. The material is typescript, but pen and pencil annotations are seen throughout.
