From the Collection:
The collection includes two deeds: one is a handwritten statement dated 19 February 1830, and the other is a printed form that has been filled in, dated 2 April 1832 and also signed by Benson's wife, Catharine. Both deeds record the transferral of real property in the town of Montgomery, Alabama, from Benson's ownership to that of George Whitman.
