Consists of an ornate bound "Forget Me Not Album" of Miss Mollie Kelly of Tuskegee, Alabama. The date April 20, 1866, is written inside the cover, but its entries are dated from 1861 – 1866. The book consists of poems and memories written to Mollie by her friends and family. The style of the prose is Victorian and very sentimental. Several entries are written by Confederate soldiers.

Scope and Contents The ninety-five page diary spans the years 1871-1872 in the life of this young woman living in Madeira, Ohio. Diary entries reveal that she took great joy in outdoor winter activities such as ice skating and going for sleigh rides. Her diary for this short time period shows an intelligent, educated, witty young woman who spent only a minimal amount of time engaged in domestic duties. Boyd Winchester Literary Addresses Scrapbook, after 1873

Scope and Contents

The scrapbook contains clippings of literary addresses from various publications. Most addresses relate to education. The owner created a table of contents, located on the first two pages, for the scrapbook. The scrapbook itself is a Mark Twain's Adhesive Scrapbook, patented in 1873 by Samuel Clemens. A label on the front cover most likely identifies Boyd Winchester of Louisville, Kentucky, as the owner of the scrapbook.
