Scope and Contents Contains a young man's thoughtful diary entries written over the winter and spring of 1893, primarily concerning school, his personal creeds, his ambitions for his future education or employment, with some news of daily events, friends and family members. A good portion of the ledger used to write the diary is taken up with various scholarly notes from literature and philosophy, with a smattering of Latin and many aphorisms.
