A collection of materials relating to the nomination of Clarence William Daugette (1873-1942) to the Alabama Hall of Fame. Daugette served for forty-three years as president of Jacksonville State Teachers' College.

This collection consists of letters to his wife and others written while serving in the Alabama secession convention, and a holograph manuscript book of poetry.

The collection contains documents from the mid nineteenth century, including store and tax receipts, court orders, letters, property appraisals, etc., from Alabama, Tennessee, and Mississippi. Most of the material pertains to West Alabama.

The collection contains letters and cards written to Hannas, beginning in 1924, from Frieda von Richthofen Lawrence (D. H. Lawrence's widow) and her partner, Angelino "Angie" Ravagli. The letters show an increasing friendship between the correspondents. The final postcard is from Angelino two years after Frieda's death as he is preparing to sail from New York to Europe.

This collection contains Pickens' school notebook, 1858; his friendship book, 1858-59; war letters to his mother; and a typed transcript of his diary, 1862-1865.
