Biographical / Historical
The Mexican state of Chihuahua grew quickly during the late 19th century as the country experienced economic growth. Railroad construction grew throughout the state during this period which allowed families and men seeking opportunities the chance to relocate for work. The mine of Santo Domingo drew the attention of amateur miners as they sought to extract resources. The exact materials being mined is unclear but modern-day mines in Chihuahua are utilized for their precious metals resources such as lead, zinc, and silver.
