The collection contains letters from Miriam Schneider to friends and students of Margaret Christy asking for "testimonials" that could be read at Christy's memorial service. There is also a bulletin from the memorial service and two photographs of Christy with colleagues and friends.

Biographical / Historical
Margaret Christy was born in 1908 in Minnesota. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota and her Masters Degree in Music Education from Columbia University. She studied cello with Pablo Casales and William Willikie. From 1943 to 1973, she was an Associate Professor of Music at the University of Alabama, where she was also a charter member of the Cadek Quartet. She played with symphony orchestras across the country, including the Birmingham, Chattanooga, Huntsville, Mobile, Meridian, Tupelo, and Madison Symphony Orchestras. She died on January 2, 1996.
