The collection contains a book of letters, bound and presented to Morley on his retirement from the University of Alabama in 1968. There is also a photograph of Morley and a newspaper clipping referring to his plans for retirement.

Biographical / Historical
Burton Raymond Morley, the first child of Claude H. and Lora Morley, was born on 17 July 1898, in Chicago, Illinois. He received his bachelors degree from West Virginia University in 1922, and his masters and doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania in 1925 and 1930, respectively. On 17 September 1927, he married Elizabeth Underhill Coles in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; the couple did not have any children.
The Morley's moved to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, in 1931, where Burton began teaching in what is now the Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration, first as Professor of Economics, 1931-1945, then as Professor of Management and Head, Department of Management, 1945-1966.
Morley died on 29 April 1982, in Tuscaloosa.
