Scope and Contents

The collection contains a scrapbook of Kate H. Durr, probably of Montgomery, Alabama, given to her for Christmas, 1892, by her Aunt Kate. The scrapbook is filled with newspaper articles of varying subjects, including the wedding announcement of William L. Durr (probably Kate's youngest brother) and Wilhelmina Lanier, followed by the obituaries of William a few years later.

Biographical / Historical

Kate H. Durr was probably the oldest child of John W. and Rebecca Durr of Montgomery, Alabama. She was born in 1858 or 1859 and apparently lived in Montgomery her whole life.
