Scope and Contents

From the Collection: The collection consists of over three hundred pieces of correspondence and various financial documents, such as contracts and receipts. The collection spans the years 1808-1968, with the majority falling between the 1820s and the 1930s. Major correspondents include members of the Chandler, Johnson, Kennedy, and Power families. There are also two letters to and from (one each) Landon C. Garland, an early president of the University of Alabama.
