Arthur P. Bagby Outgoing Correspondence, 1841-1857
Scope and Contents note
This collection contains a photocopy of a speech given by Arthur Pendleton Bagby (1794-1858) at the inauguration of President Basil Manly at The University of Alabama in 1837. It also includes photocopies of correspondence between Arthur Bagby and his wife, Anne E. Bagby. There are five original letters from A. P. Bagby to various businessmen, officials, and one letter to President James Buchanan. Various photocopies of newspaper articles, biographical information, and correspondence concerning him from the 1960s (some from the Historic Mobile Preservation Society), are also included.
