Scope and Contents

This file contains one letter written from George E. Kresal to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward E. Kresal in Omro, Wisconsin, while he served with the United States Navy in Guam. George Kresal wrote of his daily life on the base in Guam's Apra Harbor. He also mentioned news from his hometown and described being in the honor guard on February 7 for the departure of Vice Admiral George D. Murray, who was leaving Guam for the United States. The file also contains an undated newspaper clipping related to Murray's replacement as Commander Marianas by Rear Admiral Charles Alan Pownall.
