Elbert Nixdorf Letters, 1937 - 1954
Scope and Contents
Letters written to Elbert Nixdorf of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, who served in the U.S. Army Special Services during World War II. Some letters are from friends he made while abroad. They discuss daily life, gifts, and request updates on Nixdorf's troop, school work, and friends. One letter from Margaret Clairembourg of Belgium asks for news of Merle, and she hopes that "this war will be soon over, for you as for us!" Many letters are in French and Spanish.
