Scope and Contents

This collection consists of a letter from Homer Blaine Bledsoe, North Africa, during World War II, to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Bledsoe, Morehead, Kentucky, 14 December 1943.  He writes about receiving their Christmas package and working.  There are seven photographs.  Four are of Bledsoe during World War II, and two are childhood photos of him.

Biographical / Historical

"Sergeant Homer Blaine Bledsoe served in the United States Army during World War II. He was born in 1921 and is buried at Trumbo Cemetery in Soldier, Kentucky. His parents were Margaret Trumbo and Joel F. Bledsoe. Joel Bledsoe served in the Spanish-American War. Joel Bledsoe was born in 1879 and died in 1964. He is also buried at the Trumbo Cemetery.
