Scope and Contents
The General Correspondence Subseries largely consists of letters to and from Hudson Strode, as well as envelopes and postcards. Envelopes and postcards were mostly separated from letters during one stage of processing. The envelopes and postcards may also pertain to Therese Strode’s correspondence.

Although most incoming correspondence is arranged by correspondent's last name, a number of Trappist monks from Gethsemani Abbey in Kentucky are filed by first name (e.g., Brother Pachomius under "P") when their last name is unknown.
