Gertrude Gorff
Scope and Contents
The collection contains illustrated postcards addressed to George and Elizabeth Gorff in Ensley (Birmingham), Alabama, their two daughters, Gertrude and Margarete, and Elizabeth's family members who were residing with the Gorffs at the time. The postcards were from Elizabeth's mother, Sophia Krahenbuhl, and brothers, Thomas and Sam, as well as various family and friends from around the United States, Europe, and Panama, and provided news of daily life and activities.
