Caroline E. Snow’s Poetry Book
Scope and Contents
The collection contains personal items of three generations of women in the Snow and Hogan families: Abby Hazard Snow; daughter, Caroline Snow Hogan; granddaughters, Abby and Mazie Hogan; and Caroline's sister-in-law, Mary S. Hogan. The poetry scrapbook of Caroline Snow includes a loose copy of an essay on South Carolina secessionism written in the 1850s. The four journals offer daily weather information and a record of activities of upper-class women in Tuscaloosa in the late-1920s and early-1930s. There is also a collection of hair lockets.
