A photocopy of a memorandum to the commander to the 117th Tactical Reconnaissance Wing of the Alabama National Guard, authorizing transport of non-military personnel, including Governor George C. Wallace, from Montgomery to Tuscaloosa and back on April 30, 1963. Includes signatures of passengers on a waiver form.

This collection consists of an invitation from Governor and Mrs. George Wallace, Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Volker, and Mr. and Mrs. David Roberts, II, to attend the opening performance of the American Bicentennial Theater's production of Thornton Wilder's play, The Skin of Our Teeth, performed at the Birmingham-Jefferson County Civic Center, and to the supper following, at the Birmingham Hyatt House Hotel, June 23, 1975. A ticket for the supper accompanies the invitation.

Galley proofs of two other books, "The Second Man," an overview of the changing role of the Vice Presidency and "Stockcar Butterworth," a book about stock car racing, are also part of the collection, as are poems, most of them unpublished, and copies of several published articles.

This collection contains twenty-eight scrapbooks created by The University of Alabama Army ROTC program from 1953-1982. The number of photographs in each scrapbook ranges from three to 610. In addition to holding photographs of cadets, sponsors, and professors, the scrapbooks document activities such as commissioning ceremonies, training excursions, and balls.
