Letters written by Beulah Bowden of Oakley and Blanchardsville, Wisconsin, to her mother Jennie D. Bowden of Brohead, Wisconsin, asa well as letters to Beulah, one with a job offer to Beulah and one letter in German. There are also includes two Christmas cards received cards from friends during the 1947 Christmas season.

Scope and Contents This item consists of an envelope and a handwritten letter dated March 30, 1878, from Thomas H.L. Tallcott of Glastonbury, Connecticut, to Rev. O.J. Range of Essex, Connecticut. The envelope is preprinted with information identifying the sender as the Grand Lodge of the Independent Order of Good Templars (I.O. of G.T.) of Connecticut, established March 21, 1865, and includes the motto “Rescue the fallen; Save others from falling.” The letter is written on stationery originally printed for...

This file contains one postcard to J. G. Bathwick Esq. in Green County, New York, from "Your obedient servant," Dr. Robert Boscock Lee of Coxsackie, New York. Lee requests the names of the officers of the Green County Temperance Society and asks further questions about temperance workers around the country. He mentions "the growing power of Rum," which "must be put down."
