Scope and Contents From the Collection: This collection contains 52 letters written by Ambrose Doss of Jefferson County, Alabama to his wife, Sarah Brake Doss, and others while he was in Company C of the 19th Alabama Regiment from the time of his enlistment as a sergeant in 1861 until his death on 1864 July 5 near Kennesaw, Cobb County, Georgia.
