Scope and Contents From the Collection: The collection contains four reel-to-reel tapes made by University of Alabama professors I. Willis Russell and James B. McMillan, as part of a UA Research Grant in 1940-1941. The purpose of the grant was to study the different speech patterns and intonations of Alabamians from each county in the state.
