The collection also contains copies of compositions by Crenshaw while a student at the University of Alabama, a speech made at commencement, 1834, and a composition, "Education and Literary Institutions"...

The suit involved the alleged misuse or misappropriation of monies and property by the administrator of the estate of Byrd Brandon. Among the exhibits are copies of Brandon's last will and testament and inventories of his estate, including slaves.
