It is profusely annotated with notes on Alabama statute and case law through 1886. The collection also contains copies of compositions by Crenshaw while a student at the University of Alabama, a speech made at commencement, 1834, and a composition, "Education and Literary Institutions"...

The collection contains a bBill of complaint with appended exhibits in the case of Taylor vs. Robinson. The suit involved the alleged misuse or misappropriation of monies and property by the administrator of the estate of Byrd Brandon. Among the exhibits are copies of Brandon's last will and testament and inventories of his estate, including slaves.
