The collection is arranged by item type (i.e., letter, newsletter, clipping, invitation etc.) and chronologically. Letters with unknown surnames are arranged alphabetically by first name.

Biographical/Historical note
Jerry A. Davis was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He attended the Marion Military Institute and graduated from Tuscaloosa Academy. He subsequently earned a Bachelor’s degree from Tulane, a Master’s from the University of Alabama, and a Ph.D. from New Mexico.
