Biographical / Historical

Alabama author, Margaret Aubrey Toulmin Carney (Mrs. Fletcher Carney), was born 12 January 1921, in Dayton, Ohio, to Harry Aubrey and Margaret McCarty Toulmin. She attended Smith College, and later married Fletcher Burchnall Carney. She was a report for the Dayton Daily News and the Albuquerque Tribune. She was also a research assistant for her father and later an assistant dormitory director at the University of Alabama.

She published No Certain Answer (1947) and No Odds - No Victory (1951).

Carney died on 2 December 1989.
