Biographical / Historical
Isaac Cannon, son of Isaac Newton and Sarah Martin Barbee Cannon, was born on 25 December 1832 in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. He married Mary Matilda Watkins*. Cannon died in Tuscaloosa County sometime before 1889.
Mordecai F. Doughty was born 16 September 1813 and died 28 March 1871. He married Rebecca Pryor on 14 January 1834.
*The documents in the collection indicate that Cannon's widow's name was Caroline. There is no indication in other sources that he remarried, but it is possible.
