Scope and Contents
This collection consists of an itinerary, a ticket envelope, identification certificate, a ticket stub, and three reservation coupons pertaining to a cross-country railroad tour Mary Hairston took to attend the National Association of Colored Women (NACW) in Los Angeles, California in 1952. The tour included sightseeing tours of Chicago, Denver, Salt Lake City, San Diego, Tijuana, San Francisco, and the Grand Canyon.

Mary Hairston was a school teacher from Williamson, West Virginia. She was active in both the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and the National Association of Colored Women (NACW).
