Biographical / Historical

During the First World War, mass media and propaganda were used extensively. Through the of use of patriotic and nationalistic themed advertisements and posters, the US government and other organizations, such as the Red Cross, targeted the public in an attempt to alter their opinion and to induce them to enlist in the military, buy war bonds, and support the war effort.
