Biographical / Historical

Located in Union Springs, Alabama, Rosenstihl's Jewelry Store was owned by father and son William Rosenstihl and Henry Joseph Rosenstihl. William Rosenstihl was born on March 20, 1831, in Baden, Germany. Census records list Rosenstihl as a watchmaker. Rosensthil died on September 4, 1915. After his father's death, Henry Joseph Rosenstihl continued to operate the jewelry store, graduating from the Horology School at the Bradley Institute of Technology and working as a jeweler for seventy years. Joseph Rosenstihl died in 1959.
