Scope and Contents

This scrapbook of newspaper articles from Confederate newspapers (probably in Mobile, Alabama) documents Civil War battles including the First Battle of Bull Run (also known as the First Battle of Manassas), the Siege of Lexington, and the Battle of Leesburg. The collection of newspaper clippings includes maps, poetry, and battle reports published in newspapers. While most of the articles are not attributed to any author, notable first-hand accounts written by Dr. J. C. Nott and John Breckinridge are included.
