Scope and Contents
This commonplace book includes sketches, quotations, brief journal entries, and several letters. The journal entries are signed by Aurora Pryor and Mary Pryor. Two of the letters are written to Mrs. R. A. McClellan, dated 1903, and one to Mr. R. H. Walker of Athens, Alabama, dated 1898. There is also a jeweler's receipt for a black silk girdle and watch repair for Mr. R. H. Walker.
Two entries on one page about halfway through the volume provide the link between Aurora and Mrs. R. A. McClellen. The first entry says "Miss Aurora Pryor, June 30th 1869, Athens, Ala."; the second, in the same handwriting, says "Mrs. R. A. McClellan, June 23rd 1872, Athens, Ala."
