Biographical / Historical

William Simeral Alexander, son of Eli Alexander (1784-1834) and Margaret C. Alcorn Alexander (1786-1872), was born on 4 August 1817, in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. He was married to Isabell Louise Alexander (1821-1889), with whom he had eight children: (1) Margaret Lenora (1843-1911), (2) Martha Nancy (1845-?), (3) John Milton (1847-1889), (4) James Martin (1853-1912), (5) Mary Emma (1856-1918), (6) William Hiram (1860-?), (7) Annie Elizabeth (1862-?), and (8) Frank Wesley (1867-?). He also had a son, Eli Ezekiel (1849-1918), by Elizabeth Lee Alexander.

He died on 29 December 1898, in Sumter County, Alabama.
