Biographical / Historical

South Vietnam recieved international recognition as the State of Vietnam in 1949 (1949-1955) and later as the Republic of Vietnam. The Republic of Vietnam governed the southern half of Vietnam until the fall of its capital Saigon to the North Vietnamese Army in 1975.
