Mrs. A. G. Tower was a dressmaker in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, around the turn of the twentieth century.

Trade cards, similar to the visiting cards exchanged in social circles, were distributed by businesses to clients and potential customers. These functioned as advertisements and even as maps for businesses. The "trade" in trade card originally referred to the line of work the business proprietor was engaged in.
