Scope and Contents

This collection consists of twenty-four photographs showing railroad workers using heavy equipment built by American Hoist & Derrick Company, an old-line heavy iron manufacturing company dating back to 1881 based in St. Paul, Minnesota. Its St. Paul plant closed in 1985. C. C. Geiger from Boaz, Alabama, is the photographer of several photographs. Some photographs depict a group of people at Miller Annex, Mess Hall, Baldwin County, Morgan County, Montgomery County, Covington County, Limestone County, Jefferson County, and Dallas County.
