Biographical / Historical

Founded on March 22, 1923, at the University of Illinois, Phi Eta Sigma is the nation's oldest and largest honor society for first-year college and university students across all disciplines. Any first-year student who has take a normal courseload and has a GPA of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) at the end of a complete curricular period is eligible for membership. Membership is conferred for life and members are not required to maintain a 3.5 GPA.
