Biographical / Historical
Myrtis Annie Parker, daughter of James E. and Eula Parker, was born in Meridian, Mississippi, on May 1, 1900. By the 1910 U. S. Census, the family lived in Thomaston, Alabama. She married Gabe Sherrod Handley on October 28, 1938, and taught in Lewisburg and Mt. Olive, Alabama, for many years. She died on September 6, 1981, in Thomaston.
