Biographical / Historical

George Knox Miller (1836-1916) was an Army officer in the 8th Alabama Cavalry Regiment during the Civil War.

Joseph Wheeler (1836-1906) was a military commander and politician who has the rare distinction of serving as a general during war time for two opposing forces. He was a noted cavalry general in the Confederate States Army during the Civil War, and then later as a general in the United States Army during both the Spanish-American and the Phillipine-American Wars. He also served multiple terms as a United States Representative from Alabama.
