Scope and Contents
The collection contains a miscellany of materials evidently amassed for the West Blocton, Alabama's centennial. These include a history (1887-1897) and copies of undated photographs of First West Blocton Methodist Church, and of a mine entrance in Blocton, and miners, with notes by Charles Adams; histories of the West Blocton Episcopal Congregation, Church of Our Savior (1892-1942) the Roman Catholic Church in Blocton and West Blocton (1886-1973); and Alabama Wildflower Society meeting notices about two flowers native and unique to Bibb County, Alabama, the Cahaba lily and the Alabama croton.
