Scope and Contents
This collection contains scrapbooks (1957-2007) documenting the activities of the Tuscaloosa Music Club, as well as the official club records (1904-1907, 1979-1991, 1997-2000), including meeting minutes and treasurers' records. There are copies of most of the Yearbooks in the scrapbooks, but there several loose issues. Also included are programs from several state conventions and newsletters from the Alabama Federation of Music Clubs, as well as various publications sponsored by the National Federation of Music Clubs.

Biographical / Historical
The Tuscaloosa Music Study Club, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, is an active independent organization, federated with the Alabama Federation of Music Clubs and the National Federation of Music Clubs in 1926. The charge of the club is to broaden the culture of its members, to encourage appreciation and understanding of music, and to stimulate musical interest in Tuscaloosa. Its membership has grown from 25 members its first year to over one hundred. It sponsors several junior clubs, provides scholarships to talented students, and offers programs and performances for the greater community.
